Abdul-Akeem Sadiq, PhD, is an Associate Professor and the director of Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Policy in the School of Public Administration at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Dr. Sadiq’s research focuses on emergency and crisis management, organizational disaster preparedness and mitigation, community resilience to floods, and collaborative governance. In 2010, Dr. Sadiq conducted a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded study in Haiti to understand mass fatality management and humanitarian issues following the 2010 earthquake. Dr. Sadiq has a forthcoming co-authored book titled, Managing Emergencies and Crises: Global Perspectives (2nd Edition). Dr. Sadiq has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters, and has over a decade of teaching experience both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His teaching interests include Emergency and Crisis Management, Public Administration, Homeland Security, and Terrorism. Dr. Sadiq is the chair of American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Section on Emergency and Crisis Management, a member of the advisory board for the Journal of Emergency Management, and a review editor for Disaster Communications in the Frontiers in Communication Journal.
