Į SHMMF ir Edukologijos katedrą rugsėjo 19-23 atvyksta prof. Sonia Rivas iš Navaros universiteto (Ispanija), kuri skaitys paskaitas:
We will face many new issues as our society ages. In this session we will talk about the family policies in Europe around the intergenerational familiy relationships in Europe, we will focus on the emerging areas of research, and we will conclude with some unresolved questions.
All over the world, the trend towards an aging population is gathering momentum, due to the decrease in fertility and the increase in longevity. This tendency affects both the structural dimensions of the family and the relationships within itand it gives rise to an educational panorama that differs from the previous scenario, because it opens the way for stronger relationships between generations, and therefore for members of different generations to live together, knows each other and interrelate.
That is, the changing circumstances have pushed researchers to rethink intergenerational relationships both a challenge and an opportunity in educational terms.
The research reported here is thus of twofold interest. First, it brings out the positive effects on grandchildren who live with or have close contact with a grandparent. Second, it classifies and systematizes these benefits into four categories: emotional, attitudinal, behavioral, and symbolic.

When grandparents and grandchildren live together or have contact with each other, this offers an educational opportunity for the grandchild on various levels and in several ways.
Educating children is seen as part of the solution to such problems. Given this situation, the notion of encouraging families to educate their children in intergenerationality seems attractive and worthy of investigation. To this end, this sessionwill describe the many challengesand training needs the family have and how the intergenerational education would help parents to achieve success as parenting.
